Project Overview

What is BIZEOLCAT project?

BIZEOLCAT is a four-year multidisciplinary research project on « Bifunctional Zeolite based Catalysts and Innovative process for Sustainable Hydrocarbon Transformation ». It aims to lower carbon footprint of refining industry by reducing gas flaring and converting these gases into valuable products. BIZEOLCAT brings together 13 partners from 9 countries.

What will be developed in BIZEOLCAT project?

Bizeolcat develops new procedures, innovative zeolite catalysts synthesis methodologies and novel reactor design and processing. Bizeolcat catalysts will demonstrate higher performance, higher cost efficiency and better environmental sustainability compared to existing solutions.

Thanks to BIZEOLCAT catalysts, Methane (C1), Propane (C3) and butane (C4) will be efficiently converted into light olefins (propylene, butadiene) and aromatics (benzene, toluene) for further use as raw material for specialty chemical industry.
